In 2009, Montreal’s Oysterfest was launched as an endeavor to promote Montreal restaurants and restaurateurs and to celebrate the passion of a formidable industry, while promoting ocean sustainability and awareness. In 2015, Montreal’s Oysterfest received international recognition for its charitable affiliations and for being the hub to a world-renowned shucking competition.

The goal for hosting such a fun and tasty event remains true to Montreal Oysterfest causes, including donating profits to the Open Pier Conservatory, a non-profit group devoted to protecting the worlds precious waterways and aquatic life for future generations. Montreal Oysterfest is proud to have partnered with the World Wildlife Fund and MSC Global Certification and has donated to various sustainability initiatives.
